The Easiest Way To Add Music To Windows 7 Libraries

This could be the fastest way to add folders that containing thousands of music files in MP3, WMA, WAV, or AAC format to the Windows 7 Music Library.

But, why bother to add MP3 files to Windows 7 Music Library? For me, there are two reasons to do so:

One, the Windows 7 Music library serves as a center location, sort of master index file, to locate all the music files stored in different folders, hard disk drives, or locations. In the Music Library window, change the default of “Arrange by: folder” to “Arrange by: Song”, there you get all music files at one glance.

Two, I would like to show friends on Windows Live Messenger the music playing by Windows Media Player 12.

Like it or not, even the latest Windows Live Messenger Beta version 2010 (build 15.3.2804.607) is still not capable to display or show music playing by Windows Media Player 2009 version 12.0.7600.16145 in Windows 7, unless you open the music file one by one or add all of them to Music Library :-(

Tune Putty-SSH Display Characters For Large LCD Screen

The modern LCD/LED monitor for computer is getting bigger and wider that is capable to render at higher resolution – full HD is no longer a dream.

Even I am still using the bloody old 17″ LG Flatron LCD, I feel the pain of reading Putty-SSH remote access displays on 1280×1024 resolution :-(

Thanks god, Putty allows user to customize the display window appearance. In this case, I changed the default 10pt Courier New to 12pt – now the display is really comfortable and easy to read.

If there is a saved session profile, load it and goes to Windows > Appearance – there you can change the display font size, type, quality, etc.

If it is an active session, as the one shown in screencast (above), right click the window title bar, select “Change Settings…” and goes to Windows > Appearance. Have fun and good luck!

Funny VBScript Trick: What Sex Is Your Windows Computer?

Your Windows computer can be either a male or female. To find that out, just create a simple VBScript with one line of code that calling Microsoft Speech API function, SAPI.SpVoice, to hear its voice from text-to-speech (TTS) engine.

Now, turn the speaker volume to louder and do it yourself, by following the visual guide or these written instructions:

1) Open Notepad and type this (or copy and paste):

CreateObject("SAPI.SpVoice").Speak "I like WalkerNews.net"

2) Press CTRL+S (or File menu then Save As), change the “Save As Type” from Text documents (*.txt) to All files (*.*).

3) In the File name text box, type a file name ended with .vbs file extension – this is to ask Notepad to save it as a VBScript file.

4) Double click the VBS file and you should hear voice from the computer – by then you will know the sex of your Windows computer.

How To Embed Or Hide Secret Message In Image File Like A Spy Agent?

There is a pretty old trick used to write some hidden texts as secret message in an image file. In other words, you can embed the secret message in the photos and share them on Facebook, hoping that only someone special will know about that secret texts.

Sounds like a professional trick of spy agent, but it is not absolutely useful for keeping secrecy – the security force could easily decode that in no time. But, let’s see how to do that little spy trick for fun :-)

Steps to embed and hide secret message in a photo

1) Open the image file with Notepad++ (a versatile text editor and source code editor freeware to replace Notepad bundled with Windows),

2) Scroll to the bottom of image file content and add in the secret message,

3) Save the editing,

4) Send the image via email or share it on Flickr, Facebook, etc,

5) Guide the recipients to “decode” the message, i.e. open the said image file again in Notepad++

That is so simple to hide a message in image file, right? Have fun.

How to view page source if the webpage hides or blocks the view page source option? I just come across a website disables right click option in web browsers but then find out the Google Chrome cracks the restriction as if there is nothing.
