How To Backup Application Downloaded By Nokia Ovi Suite?
Do you know where is Nokia Ovi Suite cache folder for saving apps or game installers on Windows 7, after they’re downloaded and installed to your Nokia smartphone?
Some of the Symbian apps or games only available through Nokia Ovi Suite and are usually bulky, such as Ovi Maps update (8.5MB), Need For Speed Shift (84MB), Galaxy on Fire (16MB), Real Golf 2011 (137MB).
By knowing the Ovi Suite saving path for downloaded apps, then you can backup installers for offline installation, i.e. no need to download again should you need to reinstall the same version or have more than one compatible phone to be installed.
On Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, the Ovi Suite v2.2.1.23 default cache folder is:
%localappdata%\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite\IAD\Download
Just copy and paste the path on Windows Explorer address bar then hit ENTER key to get right into the folder. Note, the installer will only be there after Ovi Suite successfully installs the apps/game to connected phone.
