How To Run JavaScript On IE8 Address Bar To Check User Agent And .Net Framework Version?

There might be no result or response when you execute javascript:alert(navigator.userAgent) on IE8 Address Bar to check the web browser’s user agent string (UA) and the .Net Framework version installed on Windows.

Bear in mind, that JavaScript is case-sensitive – if you typed “useragent” instead of “userAgent”, there will be NO positive result!

Besides, the JavaScript must NOT run on a new window or tab showing “about:blank” page (as shown in this “silent” screencast):

So, any pages other than the blank page displayed by “about:blank” understands simple JavaScript code. The “about:Tabs” is good enough.

Note, ONLY Internet Explorer will report all the .Net Framework versions installed on Windows using that JavaScript code.
