How To Create The QR-Code Of Web Or Blog URL?

The unique QR-code might be cool for use as favicon, Facebook profile picture, gravatar, fashion, etc.

To those who are interested to generate QR-Code with reference to URL, here are some of the freeware and web services that can create this 2D barcode as fast as the QR-code reader that decodes it.

The QR-Code Generator

These are all freeware web services at this time being. Over the time, you will likely find more and more free online QR-code generator.

QR-Code Tag Extension as a Google Chrome plugin. This is one of the easiest way to generate QR-Code for URL. After installing the plugin to Google Chrome v4.x or higher, just click the shortcut icon on the toolbar.

QR Code Generator of delivr supports multiple type of QR-code contents, including the URL code type.

Kaywa QR Code Generator supports lesser QR-code contents, but does include URL type as well.

QR Code Generator from the ZXing Project is an open-source, multi-format 1D/2D barcode image processing library implemented in Java.

PHP QR Code Generator, as it name implies, this free web service is powered by PHP. Besides being capable of creating multiple code type, there are options to save the generated QR-code in PNG, SVG (scalable Vector Graphics) and EPS (Encapsulated Postscript).

    There’s another option too, you can use google’s chart API to generate qr codes on the fly. http://code.google.com/apis/chart/docs/gallery/qr_codes.html

    I’ve also created one for http://snapmyinfo.com but I haven’t made it public yet. I’m trying to limit SMI codes for contact sharing right now though to keep the site more focused.
