How To Download Latest Sony PMB And GPS Image Tracker For Windows 7 32-bit?

How to upgrade outdated Sony PMB and GPS Image Tracker software come with gadget like Sony Alpha DLSR, Cybershot compact digital camera, GPS logger, etc, to run on Windows 7 32-bit?

As mentioned in earlier post, you need the Sony SPU Download Manager to get the genuine applications from Sony official website. The GPS Image Tracker downloaded by this version of SPU Download Manager is compatible with Windows 7 32/64-bit.

For those who lost the original CD of PMB or GPS Image Tracker software, you can download the latest copy from Sony website via SPU Download Manager too (unless you know the official direct download link).

Uses SPU Download Manager to download latest Sony PMB and GPS Image Tracker software for Windows 7 32-bit.

I am not sure this dedicated download manager does accelerate download speed and/or supports resume broken download feature. To a certain extent, the SPU Download Manager is similar to Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program, i.e. the software download process only starts when a compatible Sony product connected to USB port.

The product verification, however, is a bit tricky to me. As I connect the Sony GPS-CS1 to Windows 7, it appears as “Sony DI Accessory” in the USB Safely Remove Hardware icon. However, the SPU Download Manager didn’t detect the support product was connected and thus kept on show me “Authentication Error”. All this happened because I didn’t load the battery in to power on the GPS logger after connecting it to USB port :-(
