Using Windows Or Linux To Read iPhone Free Magazine

For those Apple iPhone owners, you might already know that there are plenty of free magazines available for reading at Zinio web site (although not the latest issue):

If you don’t know, please help yourself by pointing the iPhone Mobile Safari web browser to http://imgs.zinio.com/iphone/ and instantly access to the list of quality magazines, such as
U.S. News, Playboy, Saveur, Popular Photography, Men’s Health, Kiplinger’s, Popular Mechanics, Penthouse, Viv, Car and Driver, PC Magazine, Elle, Technology Review, Outside, Macworld UK, Esquire UK, NME, Macworld Español, Lonely Planet, Reader’s Digest

Change Google Chrome user agent string to Apple Mobile Safari to read iPhone free magazine in a big Desktop LCD screen.

I guess that is how iPhone folks access to the free magazine, since I don’t have an Apple iPhone to test it out, at least for the time being, unless I pissed off with Nokia 5800 :-)

However, if you would like to use Windows or Linux-based web browsers to access the list of free magazines made available for Apple iPhone only, in a big Desktop LCD, then change the web browser UA to Apple Mobile Safari user agent string:
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A543 Safari/419.3

As long as Zinio web site stills practicing the good old “user agent sniffing”, i.e. the practice of showing different content when viewed with a certain user agent, anyone who can online to Internet can read the list of free magazine without having to really run a Mobile Safari web browser (or Apple iPhone).
