Windows XP:

for Windows XP only if you have Vista Check the the other comment was posted under Basam’s name… Good luck
1. Click the Start Button and select Control Panel.

2. Select Add or Remove Programs.

3. Find and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 from the list of available applications.

4. Click the Remove button.

5. Restart your system

1. Click the Start Button and select Control Panel.

2. Select Programs (Programs and Features if you’re using the Classic View).

3. Select View installed updates (it will be under the Tasks column if you’re using the Classic View).

4. Find and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 from the list of available updates.

5. Click the Uninstall button at the top of the list.

6. Restart your system

thanks for whoever put that command to remove IE 8 from sp3 it worked to perfection much love

Sadly no luck here. Uninstalled IE8 because it cause other programs to stop working. They still wont work, the IE8 folder does not exist in the windir either. Arg :(

This article is very useful and benefitted me.

I installed IE8 AFTER installing SP3 for Win XP.
I tried to revert to IE7, but uninstalling IE8 was a real pain.

The following command made it easy :
%windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe

- ggoutam7
