Unless a movie file comes with an open subtitle (a.k.a hardsubs or hard subtitle), you may separately download soft subtitles (also known as softsubs or closed subtitle) of the movie from Internet.
With these closed subtitle files, you may get the Storm Codec (a.k.a Baofeng codec pack) and MPC (Media Player Classic) to simultaneously display two subtitles for the movie!

It is possible to display up to two movie subtitles in Media Player Classic with Storm Codec installed.
How to display Chinese and English subtitles of the Shrek movie?
First, make sure the subtitle files and movie file are using the same “major” file name. For example, if the movie file is named as Shrek-CD1.avi, then the English and Chinese subtitles must be named as Shrek-CD1.en.srt and Shrek-CD1.ch.srt respectively.
Next, open Media Player Classic (MPC) and set the DirectShow Video option to VMR9. (Click View menu | Option… | Playback | Output | DirectShow Video)

Then, click on the Play menu, go to Subtitles, make sure it’s set to Enabled and select the second subtitle in the available list.
Now, the dual movie subtitles for the movie are displayed, but most likely overlapped each other, as seen here.

No worry. Click on the Play menu again, go to Subtitles and click the Options. Here, you can enable the Override Placement check-box and configure the Vertical placement accordingly to resolve the subtitles overlapped issue.

You may also configure the subtitle font size, alignment, colours, etc – Click the Play | Subtitles… | Styles…
