This 16 pages PDF document, written by BinBin on 9th of Feb, attempt to explain the working concept of Microsoft SLP 2.0, detail the loophole and weakness of SLP 2.0, and demo the guide of steps required to flash and modify physical BIOS of motherboard to activate Windows Vista as a genuine OEM version - adding ACPI_SLIC data segment to BIOS table, load in the SLP related data such as SLP Pubkey, SLP Marker, OEMID, OEMTableID, etc.

For some reasons, such as conduct Vista-compatibility program testing on virtual machine (for control sample purpose), you might want to activate Windows Vista Ultimate of virtual machine that running inside the genuine copy.
To my curiosity, I’ve downloaded Windows Vista activator by STRO and attempt to activate Windows Vista Ultimate that installed in virtual machine. It works just as expected, so I believe it’ll really works on real machine too.
But, I believe it won’t permanently activate a pirated Vista. Microsoft Corp will, sooner or later until Vista SP1 released, de-activate such fake Windows Vista that pretend genuine.
