Orphne Is An Adult-Only Web Browser
Warning! If you’re not above 18 years old, you may leave this post now!

The easiest way to taste some adult information is by asking a search engine. Veteran will likely have a database for reference, or just looking at warez sites, forums, discussion groups, etc. Now, Orphne has brought such activities to next level!
Earlier Jan 2007, someone registered as OrphneDev at SourceForge coded a new web browser in Java and called it Orphne. Although the Orphne development is based on Mozilla’s XulRunner suite, it’s not just another ordinary web browser to compete with Firefox 2.x or IE 7.
In fact, Orphne is a highly specialized web browser, optimized to search and render extremely sexy pictures that are tagged for adult only!
Strictly speaking, Orphne is a reduced function browser that’s not comparable with Firefox, IE 7, Safari, or alike. Orphne built-in specific search engine to target adult-content and a rendering system to extract and display those sexy pictures.
When I read the news about Orphne, immediately I was thinking of the motif of Orphne project. Is this new concept browser or sponsored software crafted for adult-content industry players revolution in Web 2.0?
During the initial startup, Orphne explicitly alert users that the search result are linking to sexually explicit material which are intended for adults only, and simple Enter or Not 18 Exit Now buttons.
Next, there are a bunch of adult-related tags to guide user searching relevant theme or topic of contents. Click any tags then followed by clicking Search button.
Now, you should have notice that Orphne will connecting to this site URL www.betterthanbad.com. There is nothing shown when I browser the URL directly in Firefox 2.0.
At the same time, a security alert raised by Orphne itselft reminds you that the search requests are sending over an unencrypted link. After clicking OK to proceed, there is a list of links related to the topics, together with users rating and votes of each sites. Click any one of the links will get Orphne to extract “nice” pictures from the site and get ready for slide showing and album saving.

This is pretty much a less-functional version of HeatSeek (http://www.heatseek.com), which launched in 2006. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :)
